Heroes are everywhere.
From parents to teachers, there are thousands of special people around us making efforts everyday to make our lives better. One of them, in particular, influenced my life in a very exceptional way. Her story taught me the meaning of true love, strength and sacrifice for others. She was there since the very moment I was born, and filled my life and many others with joy and true care. My aunt was known for her incredible beauty, humility and sense of humor. And some years ago, when she was diagnosed with breast cancer, she decided to keep the news to herself and to not worry anybody. During the day, she was the same beautiful, active woman, who would do anything to help others. But at night, she suffered the pains of that horrible illness without saying one word. She kept the same enthusiasm for life until the end, and left silently. And although her departure broke my heart, she became my role model, and the purest example of love, strength and sacrifice in my life.
People as selfless as her can change and touch plenty of lives, and they do it in different ways. George Lois, for example, is one of them for me. He transformed and shaped theadvertising industry, making it more than just an occupation, he made it art. His creativity and ability to communicate his ideas make him the most prolific and influential advertiser of all. He has run his own ad agencies, created the most innovative and breakthrough
advertisements and campaigns, and is considered the real Mad Man. He is a symbol, an icon worthy of admiration for his ideas, and inspires me to push the envelope as far as possible, creating an Art of my career.
